Building a budget gaming PC can be a really complicated process because there is an ocean of components to choose from. A single manufacturer is making thousands of products. This provides many alternatives for a single product. Let’s take an example of Processors, INTEL is a well-known brand and it offers a variety of processors of a single series. For instance, Intel core i5 10 generations has more than 20 different processors bases on frequency and cache memory. If such a vast choice is presented to anyone they would be confused as they have to maintain a balance between performance and cash spent.
Does more EXPANSIVE mean more BETTER?
There is no simple answer to this question because we aim to maximize performance while saving our money. The compatibility of parts is the key to achieving maximum performance. for instance, AMD Processors require a higher frequency Ram while intel can work fine with low-frequency Ram. So, if we just increase the low-frequency Ram of the AMD processor it will not have any significant improvement in increasing the speed of the system while the same cannot be said for an Intel-based system.
Today we are going to build a Budget Gaming PC that will have an optimized cost to performance ratio. The components of our PC are mentioned below
The processor is the brain of the PC and this can cost a great fortune as well. Choosing a processor can be really tough as there are enormous Tech giants Like INTEL, AMD, Qualcomm, and many more. For this Budget Gaming PC build, we choose AMD Ryzen 5 3500x. This processor is a great choice as it has 6 threads, a base speed of 3.6GHz which can be boosted to 4.1GHz. Mostly Processors lag in performance due to their low base frequency so a gaming processor must have at least 3.00GHz frequency. This is a hexacore processor with a Total L3 Cache of 32MB. This processor comes with a heat sink and fan, thermal paste is already applied on the heat sink so you just have to mount it on the motherboard and it is super easy to install. This processor costs about $199.99 or PKR29500. Click here to buy this processor in Pakistan and Click here for the Amazon link.
After Choosing the processor next step is to choose the motherboard. Choosing a motherboard can be really challenging as there are different factors that we have to keep in mind before choosing a suitable motherboard for instance Ram channels, M2 SSD slot, size, and many more. For this specific Budget Gaming PC build, we are going to choose Asus prime a320m-k motherboard. This motherboard has a certified 5x protection III, it has shear,over-voltage protection, anticorrosion moreover, it has DDR4 memory modules and this motherboard is compatible with more than 1000 processors available in the market. This motherboard has a dedicated M2 memory slot for lighting fast SSD to mount. This is an excellent choice for gamers as it can support up to 3200MZ of ram and it is a combination of performance and durability as the company claims it is built to last. This motherboard costs about PKR12000 or $60. Graphic Processing Unit
This is the heart of gaming, the graphic card. There are tons of choices available for this component and it is the far most expansive part of the whole build. There is no denying in the statement the more money you put in this component more power you get. Choosing the correct GPU can be tricky so we do not want to spend our whole budget on this while we are left with nothing and we also do not wish to make a poor decision so we regret it afterward as this a budget gaming PC build. For this Budget Gaming PC, we are going to use Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 SUPER. This GPU is selected after a detailed analysis and reports from benchmarks like video card benchmark, TechSpot, and many more. This GPU features Turning shreds technology that enables it to perform 1.4x more efficiently than its previous generations. It has a 6GB DDR6 lighting fast memory. further, it supports NVIDIA ANSEL that enables you to capture professional-grade photographs of your games in super-resolution that include HDR, 360-degree, and stereo graphics. This Graphics Card enables you to play as well as broadcast your games in super fine quality on your favorite platforms. This Piece of delicate engineering costs about $229 or 44,500 PKR. Random Access memory (RAM)
RAM is also a crucial component of PC build and no computer can function without it. The base frequency is not important if you are using an Intel-based processor but it plays an important role while using an AMD Base processor. For this build, we have used AMD Ryzen 5 processor so we have to choose a ram that has a higher frequency. ADATA XPG GAMMIX D30 DDR4 Memory Module serves the purpose and is more than efficient. We are going to choose(8X2) 16GB DDR4 Ram. This will boost our gaming performance and provide us with an unparalleled user experience. This cost about $50 each or 6700 PKR. Everything depends on this component. The more you have the better but nowadays there is a lot of improvement in this sector as well. In the recent past, we only have Hard Disk Drive but now we have a Solid-State Drive which is on another level in terms of performance. For our build, we will choose Transcend M.2 SSD 830S SATA III 6Gb/s 256GB TS256GMTS830S. This will provide us enough storage to install games and Softwares that will run smoothly as butter for our budget gaming pc. This storage alone is not sufficient so we will require a separate HDD for more storage so we will use Seagate 1TB BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch Desktop Hard Drive ST1000DM010. These will cost PKR 12000 or $80. Click here to buy SSD and click here to buy HDD in Pakistan. The Amazon links are SSD and HDD.
6. Power Supply:
As the name indicate this is a powerhouse for your PC. There are many reputable companies manufacturing power supplies like Seasonic, Corsair, Thermaltake, etc. There are two factors while buying a power supply your Consumption and Bronze Rating. Firstly we need to supply enough power to the CPU to work properly and secondly the 80plus bronze rating. For instance, our System requires a 550 watt to function properly, but we will choose a 600-watt power supply so that if we upgrade our GPU and CPU in the future, so we do not need to spend extra bucks on the power supply we will choose Thermaltake Smart Pro RGB 600W Bronze. This provides all the juice and has an RBG fan so it has an excellent aesthetics appeal. This cost about 10500PKR or $70. Click here to buy in Pakistan and Click here for the Amazon link.
Well, this is the last component of the build and it is as important as the rest of Pc. There are thousands of cases available to choose from and there are a couple of things to keep in mind while choosing a case. Firstly, the space available to fit all of the components and enough room for ventilation as this system is not liquid cool. Secondly, we need our case to look good. for this purpose we recommend using MSI – MAG Forge 100R – Mid-Tower PC Gaming Case. This case has two 120mm fans and ample space for our system moreover it has a tempered glass panel and RBG running all over it and it is one of the most beautiful cases available in the market. This case is a one-time investment as it can even support liquid cooling. This costs about $60 or PKR 10000. Click here to buy this case.
Now we have procured all or parts it’s time to assemble them. This process can be a little frustrating but we will guide you step by step so you do not miss any detail. Watch the video below to assemble your Budget Gaming PC.
