Huawei in the shadow of the US Ban plans to reduce shipments up to 74% in 2021. This year the company has an expected shipment of up to 190 million with 55 million units alone in the second quarter of 2020.
According to reports, it is said that the lowering of shipments is due to the US ban, although, Huawei stood firm during the peak months of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This will provide an opportunity for the other major players like Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO to capitalize on the situation. Samsung is already aiming to aggressively target India and Europe next year, planning 300 million shipments together. Furthermore, companies like Xiaomi will try to dominate the budget smartphone market in Huawei’s absence.
