How to use PTCL Smart TV wirelessly?
By default, the smart TV box is set up with an internet router. The Lan wire is used for the connection. The box is then connected to the Television set with the help of an HDMI cable. The whole setup has to be wired.
The whole wired setup can be replaced by a clean wireless setup. The only thing you need is a second router with Wifi capability. I recommend Tplink routers that will cost around 1200 to 2000 Pakistani Rupees.
Steps:
- Set router#2 by accessing its admin page. The access page detail can be found at the back of the router. It’s mostly 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
- Find the DHCP setting and disabled it.
- Find the Wireless Bridge setting and enabled it. Select the main router(PTCL router) wifi connection name and use its password for the wireless bridge setup.
- Find the IP address setting and change the default setting to 192.168.1.20. From now on you will access the rounter#2 admin page from 192.168.1.20.
- Save the setting and restart the router.
